desensitization.

There was a news story posted on my fb today regarding a shooting in Virginia that killed 2 journalists.

I have a lot of American people on my fb (I'm in Canada), and not one person posted about it. The only person who posted about it was a fellow Canadian.

We have gun control here and very little gun violence/deaths. When we do have a gun related death, or murder in general, people hear about it and share the crap out of it because it is so rare.

In October 2014, there was a shooting in my city. A guard for the war memorial got gunned down by an radicalised(Isis), mentally unstable, drug addict.

Everyone knew about it. Everyone mourned his death.

My question is this, mostly geared toward high gun deaths, and murder in general. Are you desensitized to death and violence? If so, how do you feel about that?
