lightning crotch

On top of havering my threatened pre term labor . I have procardia to slow down my contractions they were 5 or less mins apart continuously. I have been having a lot of pain in my belly and crotch today. Her head is down and dropped . The last time I went to the dr I was not dilated yet. But my cervix link is mesuering at 3cm and soft . Could the pain mean the start of dilation . I have never been in this situation before .
