Severe sciatic nerve pain early into pregnancy?

I am pregnant with our first child (woohoo!) and I started having hip pain at 6 weeks. I am currently 9 weeks and experiencing extreme pain in my left hip, to the point of tears and being unable to move. My doctor scheduled me for 6 weeks of physical therapy twice a week to try and help, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this intense hip pain so early into a pregnancy? I have never had an injury or fall, I'm young and in fairly good shape. On a normal day the pain starts to kick in when I've been on my feet for more than 3 hours (I'm a waitress, shifts are normally 5 hours).  If I work a full shift I cannot move out of bed when I get home. Super curious to know if this is common! Or if anything can help it. Thanks!
