I don't have any children so I can't answer this but as a preteen/teen my privacy was NEVER respected and that is something that really bothers me to see other parents do. Shouldn't you have built a relationship with your child that is strong and caring and allowing them to feel like they can come to you with anything and everything.? And that they shouldn't have any reason to hide anything and that you yourself shouldn't have any reason to doubt them? I don't know. Just wondered other people's view on this.
