Child support?

I am trying to get ready to file child support but the thing is I live in Texas and he lives in Colorado and a baby on the way. He doesn't want anything to do with the baby but think he should pay child support. What would be the steps I would take? Through Colorado or Texas?

I'm in the same situation unfortunately. Still contemplating if I even want to put him on child support, just want him to be completely non existent. I was told that you have to wait until the child is born. That way a paternity test would have to be done before you can file a petition for child support. Sorry you are in this situation. No mother should be in a situation like this. Good luck

Through Texas!!! If any court dates he would have to come to you and if he misses then he has to pay automatically! At least that's how it is here in PA. My daughters father is in NJ and I do everything here and the 2 states will communicate to each other, and any court hearings he has to attend have to be here. If he fails to show then I win no matter what. Even if it was DNA... But he showed for that lol. And honestly since mine didn't want to be in my daughters life either that was the only time he had to show for something with me at the same time. Everything is very easy unless he tries to fight something. But do it where you and your child live
