How serious of an STD is hpv?

I got the shots to make sure i cant get the really serious strands of hpv. But i got a strand that isnt super bad like no symptoms...    Also what happens if you want to have a baby and you have hpv?

I have had a low strain of hpv since I was 21. When I was pregnant with my first child I had a pap come back clean but post partum pap came back with hpv again. The doc told me that my husband and I will ping pong it back and forth for the rest of our lives. I don't have any symptoms and it doesn't effect my health other than a bad pap. So since it is a low strain I would say you will be fine.

Most young girls clear it within a year or two. Unless that doesn't happy no need to worry. Even if it doesn't its unlikely it will affect your fertility. I had to have a cone biopsy due to hpv (unfortunatelu for me it stuck around for five years but that's very unlikely) and they cut out a cone shape portion of my cervix. I still got pregnant within two months of trying. The only thing is with the surgery your cervix can be weakened so starting at 14 weeks they do ultrasounds every other week to be sure your cervix is staying shut and as it should be. But my doctor was nothing but optimistic that I will have normal pregnancies. Again this is all worst case scenario... Most healthy young girls clear the infection and nothing will need to be done about.

I had HPV at at 16 and a leep procedure done. (I was still a virgin so.......?) But despite that I had a healthy pregnancy and only had one tiny issue during my 6th month where I felt like she was trying to come out. (I can't really describe it. Lol) I just had to be careful.the heavier she got. Which wasn't very heavy thankfully.
