Implant question

Hi! I have the nexplanon implant in atm, got it in about march time. I use to be on the pill, the one u take everyday without breaks and i didnt get a period. For the first few months i had this implant in i never got a period, just a brown discharge (old blood) and then last month about the 4th/5th i got a period, it wasnt heavy but it was a normal period. I got bad cramps leading up to it so now im just wondering shud i now receive a period montly because i have gotten one or will it vary and change? I had cramps last week a bit but nothing but brown discharge so far and i only really had that for a day recently.
