So I get really turned on by being dominated, I think. (50 shades of grey shit, it's my choice of porn and erotica). I've only slept with my boyfriend, and I've been dropping hints at it and we've tried a little bit of light bondage, but I really want him to try harder? First, you should really be straight forward and talk about it. If you do want to go into harder stuff, YOU HAVE TO BE COMFORTABLE TALKING ABOUT IT for your own safety and pleasure. 
I'm really into it too, but my boyfriend didn't know that until I was a little tipsy and I told him to slap me across the face during sex. He actually got really excited and we were both really into it. After that, we both became really comefortable talking about it and our boundaries (another conversation that has to happen)
So I would just tell him what you want specifically (or get a toy to try out) and see if he's comfortable with it/ likes it
