Sex after delivery and birth control

These are two topics I didn't really think a lot about but when do you think it is ok to have sex after labor? I had a first degree tear with a few stitches and I have slight discharge but no bleeding. Would like to wait until my doctor appointment but dying to feel close to my hubby. Also very nervous at the same time. 😩 also, when can I start birth control? I still have about 2 weeks until my doctor appointment....
