GP referral to Fertility clinic?

Has anyone been referred by their GP to the fertility clinic? How long did it take to get your first appointment in? 
I seen the GP 5 weeks ago, as we have been ttc for a year, he drafted the referral letter there and then, but we still haven't gotten a letter with an appointment yet....the frustration of waiting is really getting to me now 😞

Hi, it takes ages to get a appointment,  I have a appointment a month !!!! My last one was at the beginning of June and my next one is only at the end of September !! So get used for this long trip !! Especially if you are with NHS :(

I got referred after ttc for 2 years and my hubby has low morphology which is why we got referred. We received a letter within 4 weeks and our appointment was 5 weeks later ( it's in a couple of weeks time)

I had to wait around 2 months for initial testing appointments to come through. May be worth chasing referral up with your GP as they advised me how long I would need to wait before hearing anything. Unfortunately I had to get used to waiting - it's not easy 😫 from initial referral to me actually having ICSI was a year!

I got referred straight from the hospital after my last miscarriage, the same day I had blood tests and got given a appointment date a few days later by post but the appointment was for about 4/5 weeks later but I think it just depends on when the specialist is available as the specialist at my hospital is only there's a few times a month. I've also had a second appointment for bloods a couple of weeks ago and have another appointment at the end of the month for a scan of my ovaries and results etc. hopefully you will get a date soon if not ring and chase them up x

We had all our tests done, issue with sperm count and morphology so we got referred in September appointment letter came in early October but first appointment in January! Unfortunately it’s a waiting game with the NHS.

Hi We got referred after almost 2 yrs of TTC, me36 BF 36
BF got issues with his sperms, it took us around 8 months to get our 1st apointments with the consultant, (With alot of phone calls and visited to the GP but took longer to some couples) and think it depends on your age and circumstances too x Good luck Hun

17 months.  I had bloods taken cd1 & cd21 in March last year, everything came back fine. Husband had semen analysis done in September, no concerns there.  I've been waiting for this appointment since October and now it's next week, I'm so nervous.

Hope all goes well with the consultant. Is your appointment soon?

Yes I know that guilt.  It's so hard being happy for others when they announce their pregnancies.

I just thought I'd update ladies. Three months on and I'm currently waiting for a date for a laparoscopy and dye test (hopefully just before or just after Christmas) My husband also has his first semem analysis this week 😊

We've been told it'll be up to 18 weeks 😳.
