24 weeks 4 days, natural conception!

Kristian

Hello ladies. I wanted to drop in and give everyone some hope. Scrolling through I have seen numerous posts about wanting to give up! I am here to tell you, don't! It's very possible.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with PCOS. At that time I weighed 240LBS and 5'1.5. From there I went on birth control, metformin and to a nutritionist. The medicines destroyed me from the inside out. It wasn't a very pleasant experience. The nutritionist said stop eating carbs and go workout... Well, that's not so easy. Two years of dealing with that, still no babies. I wanted to give up.

I relocated to another state, and went back to another nutritionist. At this point, I had gained weight, weighing 286LBS. However, this nutritionist was special. She in fact had PCOS also. So she knew more information as far as the dieting needs etc. I lost 60LBS with her. After a year, still no babies and periods still irregular.

Well, I moved to Florida. Gained all the weight back that I lost and then some, frustrated as hell, I gave up! I decided then that if I wanted this weight loss, I needed it for myself! There were some personal things going on in my life that changed because I started taking care of myself, so it really wasn't easy. I didn't have the support from my husband at the time, that I should've. However, that didn't stop me. Over 18 months with the support of my friends, co-worker and my doctor, I lost 130LBS. NO surgeries, NO pills. All hard work and dedication.

While losing weight, I went through a divorce, and discovered myself.

After two years of the weight loss, which I never got to my goal weight of 120LBS, a year after my divorce was final. I have found the man of my dreams. We talked of children (I was still on birth control), and I told him what the doctors always had told me. "You're not ever going to be able to convince children naturally, if you ever have them." I stop birth control, and less than a week later we got pregnant.

We are now 24.4 weeks along, expecting our little girl Christmas week! When we talked to my OB on the initial visit, she asked if there was any fertility drugs used. We tell her no! She looks surprised, but is very happy. Now, I have gained a good amount of weight with the pregnancy, but you know what?! I am enjoying being pregnant! It's something I have wanted, long before 2009. So please, ladies don't give up!! I am here to tell you it's possible! It's possible without you being in normal weight range also!!
