How long will your doctor let you stay pregnant?

My due date is tomorrow and there is no sign of baby in sight. I obviously don't want to stay pregnant forever but I do not want to be induced unless it is medically necessary. How long did your dr feel was safe? How long is too long to carry a baby?

Midwife said not more than 42 weeks.

Dr told me anything longer than 42 and there is a risk of infection that can lead to death of baby. Hospital policy is no inducing until 41 weeks without medical reason.

My dr said between weeks 41 & 42. I'm due 9/9 and have a scheduled induction date on 9/22 just in case. Hopefully I wont get to that date!

They're letting me go to 41 but didn't sound like 42 was going to be an option. NST at 41+1 and we'll go from there. If everything is still good I'm going to push for a few more days.
