I was on the shot along with some other girls I know. I took it instead of the pill because of the convienience of not having to take it a certain time every day. I use to be around 120-130 lbs now I'm 156lbs. I eat healthy, and excersize but can't loose the weight. I was on it for 2 years. At first it as great... Didn't have my period any more and no weight change but then after a while I wouldn't have my period the 1st month but the next 2 I would have my period straight! Or spotting enough that I had to wear something and bad cramps. And before the shot I was very regular every month with no cramps or any other symptoms. I got sick of what it was doing to me and messing me up so I stopped getting it. I had my period for 4 months straight! No breaks!! It finally stopped and now I'm back to being regular and let me tell you...a week feels like heaven compared to what I was going through. DONT GO ON THE DEPO SHOT!

I've never been on anything but the pill, so I can't speak from experience but I've heard great things about the implant. I would talk to your doctor about your personal situation and what's best for you. Everyone's different!

I myself want the implant but can't find anywhere for cheaper that $800 to do it.. If you have insurance I would do it
