Anxiety Advice or Tips

Marissa • Been with husband 5 1/2 years, married since April 2015. No children yet, but would like them eventually
Since July I have been dealing with an anxiety disorder and panic attacks, and I was wondering for people who are frequent sufferers of Anxiety what are some things you do to help you deal with it, such as tricks or tips or any sort of advice you can give on what you do to manage it even on your most toughest of days?  An example could be whenever you feel a panic attack or anxiety come on what do you do to change your way of thinking so it doesn't manifest?  What kind of health or lifestyle changes have you made that significantly reduced your anxiety? Etc

I have been through this since I was 13 and learning how to maintain yourself thru this rough time. It all depends on the person. I personally have been on several different medications and none of them helped, some even made it worse. When you are dealing with things, your mind is just over thinking situations. Try to take yourself out of the situation and turn your mind somewhere else. Have a friend to talk to and try different things to see what works for you. Hoping you can get out of this rut.

Taking a deep breath in through your nose(count to 7 slowly) exhale slowly out your mouth(count to 4 slowly) do this until you can start to feel your body relax a bit. Also, using essential oils (Habit Breaker) it's a roll on oil I use on my wrists that really helps. Another good idea is taking magnesium every day😄 getting sunshine and going on walks can really help too.

Honestly nothing helps me! Except benzodiazepines and you can only use them for so long because your body just keeps getting used to them and wants more and more and more! Which sucks because for the short amount time that the benzodiazepine does help me tremendously I feel like it takes all the pain and sadness away panic attack and anxietyI suffer from attacks and anxiety so bad that I'm always in and out of the hospital I'm always crying and it has got in the middle of my relationship it stops me from doing certain things sometimes I can't go outside add rather stay inside I always think I'm dizzy I always think I'm going to have a heart attack I always think I'm going to pass out I always think I'm going to have a seizure I was think I'm going to die! My biggest fear is that I'm going to pass out or have a heart attack or a blood clot! The craziest part is is that I am perfectly healthyBut I've had so much stress in my life the past five years that my brain is just not so very healthy I guess you could say

That cool rag helps for those situations. My poor husband and I went to walmart yesterday, and he was more anxious that I was because he was focused on getting me out of walmart because I haven't been there in a month because of that being a spot where I had a major panic attack, lol but I survived

Lol I have a cool rag on me constantly, I get to the point where I will bring it when I leave the house lol and it does help me make it in and out of the grocery store. My anxiety is getting a little better because I've been making myself leave the house and not leave when I feel too anxious lol

I'm just starting to get a handle on my anxiety here but on my worst days I find the best way to deal is to concentrate on other things. I try to breathe deeply and get to a cool area since sometimes that helps me feel more secure (don't know why.) And then I focus on things that are going really really well and willfully push the other thoughts out of my head. If I can't think of things that are going well I try to immerse myself in a TV show or a book that I really love instead. I hope that might give you some ideas! You're not alone!

When I feel an attack coming on I take sips of water, listen to some music if possible and sit in a quiet and cool area, so I don't overheat, I find that this helps. It is also good to have someone there with you, to just chat to if you can. ❤️
