Advice on when to begin having children?

My husband and I have been married for 4 months, but have been together for 4 and a half years. We have discussed having children and agree we will. The time frame we agreed on is in 3 years. I always said I wanted to have my first child by age 27 and done having kids by 30; I will be twenty five next month. Basically by that if I want the last statement to happen I need to begin trying by this time next year. I would be ready for that, but I don't my husband won't. Any advice?

I was ready about 3 before my husband. I waited until he was ready to start TTC. we're in our 2nd month now I'm 28 (almost 29) & he just turned 27. I'm glad I waited, I didn't want our baby to put a wedge between us or have him resent me for it. Now he excitedly asks me "are you preggers yet?" Definitely worth waiting for him to get on the baby train

I was pregnant by our 1 month wedding anniversary! It's all up to the two of you. We wanted kids for years but I wanted to finish school and be married first. If you think your ready start trying, if not talk to each other and figure out when you both would like to start trying!

Bring it up to your husband next year. He may not think he'll be ready next year right now, but a lot can change in a year. I can't recommend ttc at any of the time frames you listed, because half the child's DNA won't be mine. All I can recommend is talking to your husband again and bring up your reasons for wanting to try earlier than 3 years from now.

You sound like your in as good a place as any to start now. The fact that you've talked about timing with your SO is a great thing.

And there's no garuntee you'll conceive right away. You might, but you might not.

I would reccomended to not try/not prevent. There's no pressure, if it happens it happens. Worked for me and my husband.

We talked timing before hand. He wanted to conceive within 6 mos. I wanted to conceive within a year. And 6 mos almost to the day I found out I was pregnant.

You guys agreed on 3 years, so you should stick to that, or discuss it! If you don't feel ready, don't fret! No one is forcing you to have a time frame from 27-30 (that's not very long your kids will be so close in age unless you're only having one at 27 and one at 30) except yourself.
I thought I would be 21 by the time I had my first! I'm going to be 27 in January and I've still never been pregnant! Life changes and things happen! We moved around and weren't sure where to put down roots until this year! We bought a house (a condo, but we own it so it's our house) and we talked and now we have a date to start trying (February 2018!) so I think you shouldn't put a strict time line on yourself! Plenty of women have their first babies when they are 30, 35, 40! Just keep the discussion going with your new hubby (he might not be ready until a few years too!) and enjoy your life as newlyweds! It's the only time it will only be you and your husband!!

I got married at 30 and didn't want to wait any longer than three years. I got the itch early and we were pregnant before our first anniversary. We are now pregnant with our third and I'm 37. Feelings change once everything starts happening, if you feel like trying now, do it. If not, wait. But timelines with babies aren't realistic, you just can't control what happens.

My sister tried for 11 years... Said at the age of 30 she was done trying......  She ended up having her little man in her mid 30s
