Colic?

More of a vent session... Any other moms dealing with a colic baby?? He seems fine durring the day but once my husband gets home and the sun sets he gets so fussy. It's hard to comfort him. Just not sure what to do anymore. Hoping nothing is wrong & he grows out of this.

Answer

There's a difference between fussing and colic. If he cries for 3 straight hours or more for at least 3 days a week over 3 or more weeks that's considered colic. If he's just fussy at night before bed but not screaming his head off the whole time that's fairly normal. Most babies have a "bewitching hour" at night where they just fuss and cry a little for no particular reason. My 7 week old started doing this around 6 or 7 at night a week or so ago but usually calms down and goes to sleep by 9 or 10.

Try a bath, quiet space & feeding. Stick to a routine. They quickly learn.
