Test timing!

Please share with me your experiences with timing of a positive hpt.

Did anyone get negatives every day before their period was due, and then get a positive from then on?

Needing hope, I do think I'm testing too early but it's frustrating how some people can get bfp so early, I'm staying hopeful! :(
