What should I do about sex?

I'm a junior in high school and my boyfriend is a senior. We've always talked about waiting for me to turn 18 to start having sex but it's like I can't help but to not want to wait. I am a virgin but he isn't and I can't help but want to have sex, I guess the only thing stopping me is lying to my parents because I am a very honest person. What should I do? I don't really value my virginity as much as other people do. I feel that it's a natural part of life but since we are taught to to wait until your married and such or for the "right" person. I feel that others will frown upon my decision like others such as elders, peers, parents, etc because our values are different but I know I think about others opinions and it's really hard and tempting.

If you feel you are emotionally and physically ready then the decision is your and yours alone to do it. When I had sex for the first time in high school it was because I chose to not because I was pressured or because every one else was doing it. I felt I was mentally ready and I dont regret it at all. As long as your safe about it take every precaution then do what you feel you want to do. As for your parents you tell them when you are ready to tell them. Your sex life is yours and its private you dont need to tell everyone you had sex when you do it. Good luck and go with your gut feeling and what its telling you.

I waited until getting married to have sex and I truly have no regrets. Keeping sex for the one person you know will love you unconditionally really is amazing. And if it is something you value it should be treasured. My husband and I were together for 4 years before getting married and we patiently waited to have sex until marriage. It was such a special thing. For us it also meant more than just losing virginity. It meant being intertwined and becoming "one," as the Bible talks about when you get married. So my advice is to pray and consider waiting.

Technically you don't have to lie to your parents unless they ask if your a virgin or not but if they don't ask then your not lying about anything I was in your situation before and I did what I felt was best for me it's amazing good luck with everything!

I've only had sex with two people one while I was in high school (your age) and that was just once no I wasn't in love it just happend ! I was a virgin and he wasn't ... And I now wish I had not gave in , because I am now with the love of my life my childhood sweetheart and I wish things had been different , it doesn't change things between us but I second what Christina says , sex isnt just about the physical , it can mess with you emotionally and mentally. You should know that (at least in the U.S.) it is illegal for an underage person to have a sexual relationship with someone who is over 18. Your boyfriend could actually be arrested, even if you "consented," because you legally don't have the right to give your consent.

Also, people are always talking about waiting for the right person and time because it's proven to be healthier, emotionally and mentally.

I'm 22, have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years, and am still a virgin. There's nothing wrong with that! You really are still so young. And of course you don't want to wait, you have raging hormones that make you crazy horny. But enjoy your childhood. Because losing your virginity, even if you don't care too m to lose it, is a whole different ballgame.
