Cramping after ovulation?

Question

I have heard that cramping after ovulation can be a sign of early pregnancy?

I had unprotected sex a week ago today, and since then have been having mild to moderate cramping. It's mostly felt like menstrual cramps but last night they were worse and felt like it was mostly on one side. 
I ovulated last week and shouldn't start my period until next week.

Just trying to figure out if this could be early signs of pregnancy or what is going on? Usually I just cramp the day before and first day of my period.

Sounds like early pregnancy to me! I never cramp outside of my period and for about a week or 2 after ovulation, I had light cramps. Nothing too terrible, just a little uncomfortable. Then, during 12-14dpo I had implantation bleeding. One day I had excruciating pain on my right side. I needed meds, a hot water bottle and was pacing my house. I never had it again. I FINALLY got my positive on Friday and am 9 weeks along. I talked to my doctor about the pain I had and she said that implantation can be very painful, so that was normal. Baby dust to you!! Take a test on the day you period is due. Before I got my bfp I had a lot of cramping on the side, I presumed they were ovaries. Good luck
