How to tell a 7 yr old she can't see her dad

So my daughter was seeing her dad on friday night and Saturday night every week. Recently, there has been a motor increase in emotional abuse to her and then recent domestic violence against me when he was to drop her back off. I am taking her away for her safety but she keeps asking when she is going to get to see her dad. I cannot begin to find a way to tell her she can't see him anymore. How should I approach the situation?
