Mini ivf?

Question

Hi! Got the news this week that ivf is our best chance for conceiving. We are almost 25, and hubby has low morphology. I have no known issues. We are going to make appt with an RE to discuss options,  but i heard of something called a mini ivf or natural ivf...has anyone tried this? Was it cheaper? What were the results?

Natural IVF can literally mean going through a month, non-medicated or mostly non-medicated, and having a doc (hopefully) retrieve the one egg your body produces, naturally.
It's cheaper, but after I saw how invasive the actual egg retrieval is, I'll probably opt for a reg, medicated IVF cycle (getting lots of eggs), but with a with a FET natural transfer (having the selected egg transferred back during the time my body naturally ovulates a month or two after the egg retrieval.
A mini IVF cycle means taking less meds (sometimes just pills instead of shots), to produce a few eggs (possibly 2-5 total instead of the 15-20+ with a regular, medicated IVF cycle)- so it's cheaper, bc of the less meds, but in turn, less eggs will be retrieved. 
Just keep in mind, with a regular, medicated cycle, when 15+ eggs are retrieved, it's not unusual for only half to fertilize and grow well, and just 1-3 of those to be graded "normal" if PGS testing is done, and to be deemed a good quality to be transferred. 
So a couple who started out with over 15 eggs, may only wind up with 1 to 3 "good quality, normal" eggs to transfer.

I've read it's not as good cause u will produce less eggs cause u use less meds. just what I read. U prob wanna do regular ivf so u produce as many eggs as possible.  There r lots of books about ivf u should prob read up on it before u do it.

If mini or natural ivf means unmedicated, then I suppose it could be cheaper since the drugs for ivf are so expensive. But I'd think you'd want to increase your odds by using the drugs, giving you more eggs to be retrieved, since not every egg retrieved will fertilize usually. But I've never heard of either of those terms so I'm not sure if this comment makes sense :) ha
