Can anyone with Medicaid/WIC please help me with a few questions?

Question

1.) Will having a boyfriend affect my qualification for Medicaid/WIC?
2.) Does Medicaid/WIC need proof of your income?

I am currently 18 years old and expecting, unemployed and living with my boyfriend. He works, and makes a little over $1,000/m

Would we qualify? Thanks in advance

I was in the same situation a few months ago.  I didn't even mention my boyfriend.  Not married=single mother.  Now I'm working part time and still have medicaid.

If you have a boyfriend and are not married you are considered a single mother. That's my situation. It doesn't hurt to apply. I know in fl most "single" moms get Medicaid. Good luck!

Yes you would qualify. You are considered a single household. You do not have to have your boyfriend on your Medicaid until baby is born. Also with wic, you qualify automatically because you would be approved for Medicaid. You do not need to put your boyfriend on either application.be honest with wic though and just let them know you have no income and no bills but your boyfriend whom you live with, takes care of all that.

I have wic and needed to provide my boyfriends income BC all I have in school financial aid as "income" which they couldn't use. If you have your own job/income you wont need to use his but if he supports you and most of your living expenses they ask you to show his pay stubs. But you should be okay regardless my bf makes about 2100 a month and we qualified for wic based on our bills and being a family of 3.

1. No 2. They will ask about income in the household you should put it down and no it will not affect you. Same situation here and I was approved for Medicaid. As long as you are not married it doesn't matter how much he makes. Your child will have Medicaid for one year automatically as well.

Yea you would qualify for both and im pretty sure Ebt benefits as well. Just set up an appointment and they will get you all signed up for it.

1. No it will now affect your qualifications.  If he lives with you, they will count his income and if I remember correctly, anyone else in your households income. (I could be wrong on that last part though).

2. Yes, they need proof of income. I'm not sure how it works though if you don't work. You more than likely will still be able to get it regardless as you'll have a baby, but they may have you try to find a job. But everywhere is different.

WIC you don't even have to put him on it because y'all are not married. With Medicaid if y'all are living together then you can put him on it but again you do not have to. & yes even if he makes a lil over 1000 a month you will still qualify for Medicaid. I have my fiancée on my Medicaid & he makes about 1500 or a little more . & with Medicaid you usually have to provide proof of income, in Georgia wic doesn't require proof of income they go by a ruff estimate on how much he makes.
