Stationing?

I've seen a few people put on here that they were choosing or putting in for a certain place to be stationed? What are the choices and how do you decide? Sorry I'm new and will be 5 months pregnant whenever we get our new duty station so it's important to me..

Usually he will speak with his branch nco or retention nco and they will let him know what is available for his Mos and rank if applicable. My husband is deployed right now, he spoke with branch they asked him to give 4 possible places he would consider and they would let him know after Oct 1 at the start of the fiscal year, so know we wait. My husband isn't up for reenlistment but has the time left on his contract which is why he is going thru branch, also his next enlistment will be his last bc he will go indef and that makes him needs of the Army.

The way it worked for my husband is he talked to his detailer and talked about where he ideally would like to be stationed, he agreed to see if there were any positions in his ranking available at his ideal place, if there wasn't he got offered a place where there was places to fill. He had a week to accept or deny and if he denied it they would offer a second place...which he had to accept. We have been lucky and been in Hawaii & now Monterey

I forgot to mention on e he gets his options see if he could speak with other who have been in longer to get reviews on those bases. That helped us in determining where he wanted to go next.

It really depends on which branch they are in when talking about where you might get stationed.

Usually when your husband goes to branch they give him options of where there are available slots according to his MOS.  My husband gets about 6-7 choices when he reenlist and he chooses one of his choice.
