Anyone used Provera to regulate cycles when trying to conceive?

I had and IUD placed in 2003 after thebirth of my daughter and had it replaced every 5 years until It was removed the first of August 2015. I still haven't had a period and have taken ovulation test everyday since removal because I had no clue where I was on my cycle since I didn't have periods at all for 12 years. My OB started me on Provera yesterday to jumpstart my cycles and possibly start clomid once I start to force ovulation... Just wondering what to expect. I'm 34 my hubby is 39.
