Is it good to work up until 1 week before due date or when baby comes?

Question

I'm a teacher and due Jan 1st I plan on working up until winter break. We have school until Dec 23rd so about exactly 1 week before my due date. I don't know why this is making me really nervous.

My mom worked at the hospital as a nurse when she was pregnant with me. Her water broke, and she worked for 3 hours longer before telling her Co-worker that her water had broke. She goes, "you gotta get upstairs!" And my mom goes "I'm gonna have a cigarette first" lol (it was the 90s)

Depends how you feel. I'm calling it quits tomorrow and my due date is in 2 weeks. I'm a teacher too. My last day was supposed to be a week before but my body is just shutting down. Go by how you feel when you get to the end :)

I say yes because you never know if you'll go late. If you go to 41 or 42 weeks, you just lost a week of maternity leave. I know us teachers don't get a lot of time off! I'm saving every day I can to actually spend with the baby.  Besides, the last week of school is pretty chill - exams, holiday parties, etc. you can sit a lot during this time.

I'll tell you from personal experience as a teacher (36 weeks) I asked my doc to put me on bedrest because once I hit 31 or 32 weeks, the swelling started hurting and got to the point where my entire legs were swollen and I couldn't walk. I did this for about 4 or 5 weeks and said I can't do it anymore. No pre-e but do have GD. Not sure what's up w the intensity of the swelling, but doc is shocked too.

I think that you should ask yourself if you feel fine working untill the end. With my first I worked untill the week before my due date. This time I stopped working at 4 months because my too stressful both physically and mentally. Every pregnancy is different but as long as you are confortable working untill the end then Go for it

My mom worked as a hair dresser up until she went into labor. She was 3 weeks passed due... 😳
 I had to quit work 3 weeks before my due date with my first.  (I became a sahm after that).  Dr's orders.  I think if you feel good, you will be fine.  Good luck!!

I'm working up until I give birth. No break for me but that's a choice, because I think if I take off then I'm just going to be sitting around.
