Pimples and black heads on my lip line?

I always have blackheads on my lip line and recently I've been getting pimples (it's my upper lip line). And I don't really know how to handle them. I've tried taking them out with my bear hands but it hurts a lot and I always wake up with a swollen upper lip the next morning. I'm a senior in high school and it's really starting to get embarrassing. What can I do?
