Hi I am ttc now for 5mths with my partner.
I got one shot of depo 9mths ago, was a silly spur of the moment and bad recommendation from my doctor at the time (did not explain all the cons of the depo).
Now me and my partner are planning on going to my doctor to see what they can tell us about trying to conceive and why it might be taking so long. I will be asking for tests as there is a long history on infertility in my family and I'm very worried.
Can anyone recommend any tests to ask for or anything that might help because I hate going up clueless.

Usually your doctor will tell you to come back in 6months. Usually it takes on average one year for a couple to conceive. I have heard of some cool doctors that will test you even if you have been TTC for less than a year... But for most doctors they wait until you have tried for a year.

It takes healthy couples anywhere from six month to a year to conceive depending on your doctor they won't do testing until after a year. Are your periods regular? I have pcos and had irregular periods, took four years for our first and we've been trying 2.5 for number two, my periods are regular now but my doctor wouldn't do any testing until after a year of trying with regular periods.

I know for me I have hypothyroidism which I didn't know until I was trying to conceive because they did the thyroid test so that was causing infertility in my case PLUS it took almost two years for the depo shot to get out of my system I feel. I went one full year without a period because of the shot and I only got 2 rounds of shots. I'd also have them check maybe your testosterone as that's what they were going to test with me and then magically I became pregnant (we didn't even think I was ovulating!) Good luck ttc.
