I'm delivering on post for my 3rd. My first I delivered in a civilian hospital and hated it!! They were rude and the after care was awful, they were supposed to be a great center too, #3 in the state. 2nd delivery was at wbamc at ft Bliss, they were great! So doing it again in February, instead this time il be at ft Hood.

I think it truly depends on where you are. I live in hawai'i I have no kids but my friends that have had babies here have had horrible experiences at the military hospital.

I had to see an obgyn on base over a year ago, I had bad cramps and had cyst that needed to be removed. He looked at me and said they were gone and nothing was wrong with me. Turns out after moving back to Texas and seeing a new obgyn near dallas that I actually have cancer and needed it removed. She said by the progression that he should have noticed it but instead made me think I was crazy

I'm chancing the military hospital here in Hawaii. I've always hated military doctors here [grew up as a child dependent, now a spouse dependent]. But my experience with the midwives have been amazing, so I'm a little more confident.

My best friend is an L&D nurse at a women's and children's hospital and i still joke at the possibility that she'll be delivering my baby :P I've always told myself that if I'm home, I'd deliver at that hospital. We'll see how my experience is at the military hospital...

I honestly said I would drive back home and deliver my baby but my kids will be in school and my husband will be at work.. My OB snd high risk specialist are great and the reason why I'll stay on post but if they talk about a repeat c-section will have to be done I'm going off post. I don't trust Womack cutting me open.

Depends on where you're at.  In Hampton Roads, VA.... if literally doesn't matter.  It's luck of the draw with these doctors and nurses.  As a birth doula, I've seen it myself.  Every other visit, you'll get a really great or really terrible provider.  You're never guaranteed your doctor at delivery either.  If possible, mothers should birth at home with a CPM if they're low risk and being respected is a priority.
