Circumcision?

Question

If you are having a boy, do you plan on circumsizing? Don't know if this is a personal question or not sorry if people get offended. I'm just genuinely curious. Are you doing it out of religion or maybe because your man is and he feels strongly about it also.

I don't believe in doing a cosmetic procedure on a baby, which is exactly what it is (at least in Canada). Not medically necessary. My husband is uncircumsized and practices good hygiene and has never had an issue. If I had a son, he should be able to make those decisions for himself as an adult if he really wanted to be circumsized.

My husband is circumcised but we feel that our baby is born perfect. No need to alter that. There is no need for circumcision and as long as we teach our son how to clean himself once the skin retracts by itself everything should be fine. My biggest worry was about him looking different than other boys in locker room or even different from his dad but my husband reassured me that guys in locker room don't go around comparing penis' and if by chance he needs to talk to our son about why he looks different than him my husband will tell him he was born perfectly formed by God and we didn't feel the need to change him  if he makes that decision on his own we will support that too but I want him to make the decision himself unless medically necessary

There are so many reasons  not to circumcise , where do I begin? It greatly affects sexual pleasure and overall sensitivity. Not to mention it's a traumatizing procedure done (most often) in infancy, one of the most delicate times in a person's life. There are even medical practices that specialize in reconstructing the foreskin for those who are negatively affected by not having it. It's a brutal, archaic procedure and completely unnecessary. People are concerned about infection but that's really just ridiculous because you only get infections if you don't ever clean yourself. It was beneficial in ancient judeo-Christian times because access to hygenic cleaning wasn't always easy. It's 2016, boys can clean themselves. It's so barbaric! Poor little babies don't even get anesthesia the vast majority of times!

If you've ever worked with the elderly who are not, you would definitely understand why people do it. We will have our sons done. Yes you can teach them how to clean and things of the nature, but you can't ever be careful enough. I've worked with so many elderly men in the nursing homes and they are so embarrassed by it bc they get so dirty and it's not comfortable to clean.  Like the lady stated below she can't have unscheduled sex with her own husband bc she has to make sure it's clean before they do bc of harm it could cause her.  In my book it's not worth not having done. And I promise it's so much more "Humane" if that's the way you want to put it to have it done now when they won't remember the pain than to make them go through the pain at an older age.  It is painful as a newborn (they will never remember) yet it's twice if not three times as painful as an adult male.

I didn't circumcise my son, who's 10 now, and if this one's a boy, won't do it either. I just think it's his choice to make when he's older.

We chose to circumcise because my husband isn't and he hates it. He bathes everyday and cleans thoroughly but he still builds up bacteria. We cant even have spontaneous sex because he has to clean it before we do or else I'll get bacterial vaginitis or a uti.

I am planning to circumsize my son, my husband is circumsied and feels strongly about it. I also have a co-worker who has a nephew and he keeps getting infections and they won't go away. He's 13 and has to get circumsized at this age and apparently it's extremely painful and a rough recovery so late in the game.

I voted yes because my husband does have strong feelings for it. Personally I don't care one way or the other, because it's not for religious purposes i almost don't want to, obviously there is data supporting both sides. With that all being said, I have a male cousin who literally opt in for the circumcision at 30 because he was insecure about it.
