Breaks don't work. Breaks are an excuse to sleep with someone else while You're still dating someone else and not feel guilty about it.

Break as in me leaving for an hour or so or taking a nap to clear my head then come back for my SO & I to talk things out.. No breaks in this relationship🙅we  communicate/apologize & work on our issues together. As a couple we don't even like the idea of a "break", we're either together or not.. No in between.

I'm on a break from my SO , after 6 years almost 7 of being together I needed a break. I'm not sleeping around. I don't think he is either. We are going to counseling to learn to communicate again. We've been through hell and back trust me.  I won't go into the logistics it would take forever and be one sided. In any case I needed a break to decide if this is worth it anymore. I feel like its over but he deserves us to go to counseling at least a few times. Our kids are attached to each other and I  trying to do what's best. We still do the weekly dinner with them and act as normal as possible. We are best friends and we are trying to make it as amicable as possible no matter what the outcome.

A break to me is when someone wants to break up but can't say it for whatever reason. I've never seen a couple come off a break and make it work after that. You are either together or not.

I think if you need a break from your relationship you should just break up.... No bashing just my opinion. I could never imagine taking a week+ break from my SO and we've been together for 4 years

Breaks usually mean there is someone else the person wants to sleep with without being deemed as a cheater but then once they are done doing their thing they want to come back to you guilt free.
