My SO and I had been living together for two years before my 10 year old dog passed away. My SO never had ANY allergy problems with her. A year after she died we got a new puppy and his allergies started going crazy! We tried everything we could think of to help. Pills, eye drops, special dog shampoo, vacuumed constantly, and we even invested in a really nice air purifier and nothing helped so I had to rehome our dog. Now I really want to get another pet but I'm too scared to get another dog and have that happen again. He's allergic to cats also and small pets like hamsters rabbits and mice just aren't affectionate enough for me. I want something that will enjoy being with the family and being handled. Any ideas on a pet that will fit in with our family?
