Opinions on natural child birth vs medicated?

Falicia
I've always wanted to go through child birth naturally but I want to know everybody's opinion on it? What did or do you want to do? Why?

I am certainly going to try and do it naturally. The pitocin speeds things up but makes contractions more painful so they give the epidural to ease the pain but that slows things down. Id prefer things to progress at the natural rate my body wants. There are many other things to help ease the pain

I did it naturally. Honestly it was because I was too scared of the epidural needle. But I'd do it the same way 1000000000 times.

I am trying for natural labor with no interventions. But I'm staying open to the process! You never know what's going to happen during labor.

I went into labor on my own but when I got to the hospital they gave me Pitocin to help things along. With in 30mins I was in horrid pain, I got pain meds but they didn't do diddly for me lol. I finally decided it was time for an Epidural, I had been putting it off because I was super nervous about it. But let me tell you I didn't even care about the needle at that point. He had to stick me a few times due to my back having a curve but I didn't mind it at all. Once I had the epi I was able to some what sleep and within a couple hrs I was ready to push. I really think the epi helped me to relax and help my body do what it needed vs me being so tense. Pushed him out with three pushes. This time around I won't be screwing around with pain meds or trying to tough it out lol I'm going straight for the epi. When I got home I did have a sore spot on my back and a bruise but it was nothing to cry about. Good luck!!

Medicate me up lol! Actually I'm having and section, second baby and my first was a c section. I was induced but due to several complications it was better for my son to have a c section. But while trying for vaginal I fully wanted an epidural. It's everyone's personal choice, mine is to not feel more pain than I have to. If I have a headache, I take Tylenol. If I need stitches, give me local anesthetic. It's as simple as that for me. Any type of birth that results in a healthy mama and baby is the right type of birth.

Planning for a natural birth this time. Ran into complications so I was told I had to get an epidural because I couldn't stop pushing tried gas and air first to control it but couldn't. I made it that far without anything so once everything goes well I think I can do it :)

I was overdue and while my body went into labor on its own they gave me Pitocin to move things along. I had a 9.7 lb baby to push out and while I attempted to go without drugs I could not take the pain. I had intense "back labor" and the epidural made all the difference . It was a scary thing before labor but at the time you could have told me it was going into my eyeball and I would have complied...lol. I had/have no issues at all with the injection site of the epidural and would do it again in a heartbeat. Everyone's different but that was the way I did it and will probably do again with my next one. :)
