5 month check up scare!

Jessica
So yesterday was another check up for Baby. We did find out the gender but we are going to wait to post it till all immediate family members know. However, something else came up in the appointment. I have been having a lot of pain in my left side and the ultra sounds revealed that I have an ovarian cyst. An ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled pocket (sac) that develops in one of your ovaries. Which in this case was my left one. The doctor informed us that there was no cause for alarm to the baby, but if it does rupture, it can put me in a lot of pain. The second thing that we were informed of is that I have a fibroid. Uterine fibroids (leiomyomata) are noncancerous growths that develop in or just outside a woman’s uterus (womb). Uterine fibroids develop from normal uterus muscle cells that start growing abnormally. As the cells grow, they form a benign tumor. Mine is inside the uterus. The doctor informed us that they suspected it with the first ultra sound back on July 14th but did not say anything because it was too small to be sure. On the ultrasound today, the fibroid was 3CM. Doctor stated that at this stage there was not to much to be concerned about. However, if the fibroid continues to grow as it has since July, then it can put too much pressure on the baby and they will be looking at doing an early delivery.
Anyone else go through this?
