Trying everything to conceive!

My husband and I are newlyweds but have known each other since we were kids. We've been trying to conceive for 6months now. We've had a few close calls but the monthly menstrations always came, even a few days late. I'm starting to already feel discouraged since I've always been told I would have difficulty conceiving. Any advice out there or support for a woman in my position? No one in my circle of friends or family seem to understand. Thanks ladies!
