Should I be mad that one of my best friends is going to homecoming with my ex?

So my ex asked one of my best friends to homecoming. She said yes and at first it didn't get to me since I have a boyfriend and have been dating him for a year and a month, but then I started thinking about but I'm just not sure what to think now. Help?

No. Why should you be mad? It's your ex. What is he supposed to do, never date anyone again because he dated you? Clearly you've moved on so it should be a non-issue. If you two broke up last week and you were still in love with him, that would be a different story. Side note, if I were your boyfriend and you were upset about this I would be pissed off. It says you still have feeling for your ex if things like this bother you.

When you are young it's going to bother you. But you have to realize that everyone clicks differently. Doesn't make either of you a bad person, but that's just how it is. Besides it's just homecoming. They aren't getting married.

You can be upset with your friend especially if it ended bad (abusive, lying/cheating, etc.) but if it ended ok, time has passed, and you clearly moved on, then it shouldn't matter. So if you're mad at him that shows that you might have some feelings for him still. Wouldn't it make you mad if your boyfriend was mad at a girl he used to date for being with one of his friends?

Actually, I think you have every right to be mad. And I think that you should be. Yes you have a boyfriend now, but you were once in a relationship with your ex, and I don't think best friends should date people you were once romantically involved with. That's just my opinion, though. Good luck 💕

Is your friend more valuable to you than a relationship that's been over for a year+? If so, let it go. Don't cause unnecessary drama, good friends are hard to find and it would be a shame to lose one over something so trivial.

Meh. When I was in high school I had been in a 2 year relationship, it ended pretty easily. My best friend and him started dating weeks after. I was furious, but then to the point felt sorry for her, cuz everything they did was just a repeat of what me and him did. So it was funny after a while. My last year in high school, for sophomore prom I went with my best guy friend and met up with those 2 at dinner. Wasn't too awkward, just ignored them completely to make them feel dumb, which I'm sure they did.
