Birthing Center Experience

Hi guys I am TTC for my 3rd. My last two births were hospitals births and while I didn't like it I thought it was my only option. I live in a fairly small area and I just found out about a birthing center. Since this new to me wanted to know any experiences that you ladies can give me. Also, I know I will have to call my insurance, but are they usually covered? I have BCBS if that helps. Last question, do I just call for a consulation? Lol seems like a dumb question but I don't know what to do. Thank you in advance
