Painful Intercourse

I recently went off my birth control for health reasons. It's been about 2 weeks and I've noticed some great improvements. However, for the past week, every time I have sex with my boyfriend, I get a pain in my left side almost in the same area as my ovaries. It goes away and comes back at random times during intercourse, no matter what position were in. Any clue what this could be????
