Clomid and delayed period

Can clomid really delay period, but no bfp? I just had my first cycle of 50mg, period is 2 days late for my usual 28 day cycle. I'm hoping im preggers but read somewhere that clomid delays period.some actually got bfn even a week of delay. Anybody has an experience with this?
