Opting out of newborn vaccines

Jamie • My baby girl was born baby girl born nov 29_2015
Anyone opting out of the newborn vaccines the hospital gives on the day of delivery? The vitamin k, hep B,& antibacterial ointment that goes in the newborns eyes.
Or has anyone had a baby that didn't get these vaccines? 💗👍

Definitely not! I'm all for preventative measures as I was given all my shots and so have my two boys. I don't want to be responsible for getting other children ill or causing my own to get sick. This is JUST my opinion :) Everyone does what they feel is right

When I first got pregnant I was really worried about the vaccines... Basically because I didn't know why my baby needed all of this stuff right off the bat when he would have my immune system with breastfeeding (God willing). Anyway I've spent the last 10 months doing all the research I could on everything that would be given and decided there was nothing that would harm him, everything is preventative so is it 100% needed, everyone has their own opinion on that but I decided to allow him to have everything the midwife thought was needed.

My pediatrician reccomends waiting until atleast two weeks old. I planned to do that, as it fell in line with the research I had done. She did not have hep B because that's sexually transmitted and i do not have it, my partner doesn't, and my new born will not be sexually active. I passed on vit k because my OB said i could after he evaluated her. I didn't want her to have the eye goop since i don't have any stds and I've heard it burns and didn't want her first few minutes of life to be incredibly turbulent and uncomfortable. She's healthy and fine and it wasn't an issue at the hospital. :)

If I was having a hospital birth I world 100% refuse every one!! I will do natural real food vitamin K drops. You are tested during pregnancy for gonorrhea so why in the world would you need the eyedrops/cream unless you tested positive? And hepatitis B? You do know how that's transmitted right?

They did our son's two days after he was born. He was gone for less than 10 mins and came back just fine not one tear.

I am opting out I spoke to my doctor who said its not necessary to give your infant vaccines that early so I'm just going to wait until our first pediatrician appointment to start doing vaccines.

I did everything for my first son, but my 2nd was a girl & I refused everything vaccine related. As well as the eye stuff & being bathed. Every time I think about it I am sooo happy I did. I have done tons of reading on the pros & cons. And it was wonderful to give her the first bath at home 😊

I skipped the ointment with my first and will do the same with current. Both csections anyway so I really don't see the point of making the baby deal with that in there first minutes. My daughter was perfectly fine.

This is my first baby, but I am refusing everything for my little girl. As I have read the pros and cons to all! I am also delaying cord clamping! It's more beneficial to babies!
