Vagina issue ?please help me out

I went to my doctor today because I've been irratated down there for a while now. I'm not sexually active, never have had sex before. I tried having sex with my boyfriend once and that was like 2 months ago. I I go to my obgyn and he swaps me down there and tells me everything looks fine. He said the irritation and vaginal discomfort is just because of my birth control. I'm not sure if I believe that. Like I've convinced myself I have herpes! I don't know why but I always think of the worse. I just need someone to tell me that I'm okay and need to relax. If I give me boyfriend head all the time and he had herpes wouldn't I also have it around my mouth ? Like we haven't had sex before we've only tired too once but I'm so sore down there and itchy that idk what to think. Could it actually be from my birth control like my doctor said ?
