How to tell my parents that I am pregnant ?

Please help me! I am 17 weeks now and I live with my parents, I am 21 years old. Fully responsible for my rent, bills, and car... I been also able to afford to pay for all the Doctor's appointment for my pregnancy. The problem is telling my parents, I know they will be sad, and disappointed since they don't even know about my boyfriend even though we been together for 5 years. Please help me with any advice on how to tell them the news.

I was kind of in the same situation. I'm 22, I have my own place with my boyfriend of 9 years- obviously pay all my bills, have a car, plus I still go to school. My dad is very old school & when I told him the news when I first found out (I'm 18weeks now) - he was devastated, said my life was ruined & blah blah. But I let him have his father moment & let him express how he felt to get it all out on the table. He eventually got over it & now is rooting to have a grandson.

Moral is- parents are always going to be parents, & if you are already responsible, at a good age, then they too will get over it ( I hope lol) Not much they can do about it anyway except support you.

Honestly at 17 weeks they probably already  know but are waiting for you to tell them. I would just come out and let them know.

The best thing is go into the conversation straight. I come from a very traditional family and we'll I found my self 19 and pregnant. You have to realise you are your parents baby. It might not have been what they wanted for you at this time but that's OK you are 21 and are fully capable of doing this but you need your parents support not matter how old a person is they need there parents. Just understand they go through a greaving proses of what they wanted for you in this season of your life. Just tell them and say I know this is probably not what you Wanted for me right now but I am pregnant have prof you are and go from there. I wish you luck with telling your parents. Dang you're already 17 weeks and they have no idea? You never know how your parents will react they may be upset at first but they usually come right around and get excited in the baby planning

I was in a pretty bad situation when I got pregnant, I had my own place and a good job and was financially stable for awhile but I had just broken up with my bf because he was cheating on me and was alone. When I told my mom she was surprisingly happy. I really didn't expect that at all. Give them a chance and tell them as soon as possible cause the longer you wait, the less time they have to process the news and prepare for it.

My parents were shocked and upset when I told them at 9 weeks that me and my bf were having a baby. They've gotten over that part and are starting to get excited. Mom even took me shopping and bought me maternity clothes! Just give them time if they get upset. My parents believe in marriage than baby, but she said she wants to enjoy this and have fun with me while I'm pregnant. I feel so much better since I told them.

I was 21 and engaged and dreaded telling my family. They did NOT take it well. But give them time. It's a lot to process for certain people. My family is now extremely supportive and my Husbands family are the unsupportive ones.
