When to tell.....

When were/are you most comfortable telling your big news after dealing w/infertility seems like I never stop worrying.

With my first, since I was so excited to finally be preggers after twelve years, I told right away. Unfortunately I lost him early on. This time I waited until 13 weeks. I only told my family. I didn't tell anyone else until about 17 weeks only because I was showing.

My family knew early on since they knew when my last round was, but I'm now starting 3rd trimester, and never put it on facebook, and people are still finding out slowly. I went through so much for this, that I'm happy being in my own little bubble. People will find out when they find out. I don't care what anyone thinks after everything it took to get here. If you want to shout it from the rooftops, wait 14-20 wks, and do it!

I told 2 people, because I needed SOMEONE to know. They're not sure it'll stick, and I needed support. My family is NOT supportive, and neither is my husband's, so we are waiting at least until 8 weeks and we know everything is alright to even tell family. Then we will tell close friends around 12 weeks. We're discussing never making a fb announcement, because we both always hated getting bombarded in our newsfeed ("okay, there's someone else to stop following for a while."), but on the flipside, it could be reassuring to know that someone who has tried so hard for so long (4 1/2 years) can still have success.

We tried for 20months before our bfp... We were also concerned about sharing. We told immediate family and closest friends as they were aware of our treatments. We waiting until 15 weeks to announce with everyone else in the family. I felt much more comfortable by then, but even now at 32 weeks I'm still scared and worried. We had complications from the beginning-Having the support system helps.

We told our immediate family right away tho I was careful to remind them we are waiting to tell others until after the 12 weeks so keep it quiet! My husband thought it was important to share for support and close friends going through the same thing were happy to hear about the news as a sign of hope for them. If I had it my way I would've waited til 16 -20 weeks. I'm 17 weeks now. I'm still nervous about it but trying to enjoy the pregnancy. We are keeping the gender a surprise so we can focus on the pregnancy and since we've been down the family planning road for awhile it's a fun surprise to have. Good luck and congrats!!

Since my support network knew my IVF cycle, they also knew my beta date. My closest friends and family know. Since we miscarried once, my husband and I were fine sharing that for our support. It's up to you as many know trimester one is the most crucial. We will wait until after that to formally announce.

We told immediate family right away. They knew our struggles and we knew they would be supportive no matter what happened. We started telling close friends after our first ultrasound around 9 weeks. I put it on Facebook at 13 weeks but I was upset when my husband took that as license to tell people at work. We work at the same place and I had already started to show a bit, so it didn't take long for people to know. It was a relief to not keep it a secret though.

Like you, I was so nervous after finally getting pregnant with IVF.  I told our immediate family as soon as we found out since they knew our struggle and I wanted to share some good news with them.  After that, I told my closest friends after week 14.  Finally, we started to tell everyone after week 23.  That's just what I did because I wanted to be extra cautious.  Hope this gives you a reference.
