SUVs -better ride or slightly more space?

Question

For moms of 2 in car seats...Price being about the same, what do you get & why?

One has more steel in the frame, more safety features, and a quieter and smoother ride but only seats 5.

The other is a 7-8 seater but requires you to put the 3rd row down in order to have a big trunk. Safety ratings are good but is ranked a couple slots lower than the other car, and you can feel more bumps and hear more noises while driving. Interior is a little wider & with the 3rd row down trunk is about a foot bigger.

We buckled and bought a mini van. My husband swore he wld never drive one. Haha! He drives it more than I do! Numerous times he chooses to drive it to work at night!

We just got a Kia sorrento--has so much space and is one of the safest SUVs out there right now. I'm in love with it! It has the folding down 3rd row so it has a ton of space in the back as well.

I have a Ford Explorer with the third row you can put up or down. I love it now, but we have 1 car seat and 1 booster currently. Come February when we add another car seat I'm not sure how I'll feel. I don't necessarily like having to put the third row down to have more room to put groceries and such because if it's up I can't even fit my stroller. Otherwise I love it. I live in Colorado so 4wd if a must for me driving little ones around in winter. I'm just afraid of filling cramped when our newest little arrives...

I have a Honda Accord LX. When lil one gets here I'll have 2 in full car seats. Hubby already knows I need an SUV. We've already looked around but not agreed on anything yet.

He wants a minivan (Town & Country) and I want an SUV 7-8 seater.

We have a Mazda cx 5 with one car seat and two boosters. It's miserably cramped. We are moving up to a suburban.

I'm studying up and comparing vehicles too!!  I have two children, two car seats leave little to no room for a third rider in the back. The interior diminsions for my Hyundai Sonata are the exact same for the Hyundai suv.  Ridiculous.
So now that we're expecting a third, it's either a minivan (not my first choice) or a 7+ seater SUV.  I want the safety of a tank plus the mileage of a smart car lol the best options to balance those *wants* are hybrid or diesel models. Hybrids do not provide as much safety (lighter materials) and I cannot tinker on them myself, while diesels cost more upfront but are solid cars and easier to work on.  So what 7-seater diesel have I found? The old Land Rover models that they use for safari adventures 😂😂😂
Please.  For my hubby's sake, do share your SUV choices.
