The government should step off. There needs to be a lot more responsibility put back on individuals and families to care for themselves, including teaching children. The more we ask the government for things the more control we give them.

Honestly, parents should be doing this but as long as it gets done, I don't care how it happens. The attitudes and ignorance when it comes to mental health is ridiculous. Having worked in the mental health field, I can attest to the importance of understanding and education towards people that suffer with any form of mental illness from depression to schizophrenia. People don't realize what a little compassion and normalcy can do for someone with mental illness.
