Blood Test???

Hello ladies, I have read a few times on here about a bllod test you can ask your doctor for to know the gender of your baby? I would love to know more about these, since I had never heard about it. How early can you have it done? Do you just ask your doctor even if you dont need it? And how accurate is it?  Would appreciate all the information I can get.

I've been seeing them a lot more now. You can get them done as early as 10 weeks. The two most popular are called panorama and harmony. I got the panorama done at 11 weeks. My insurance only covers of you have family history of genetic abnormalities or if you're over 35, so I paid out of pocket. They test for chromosomal abnormalities and sex. They're testing for presence of a Y chromosome so if you're having a boy it's even more accurate, like 98%

I think older women get it. .I think it's a test that they do to make sure baby is OK due to mom's age. .genetic maybe? I think finding out baby's gender just happens to be part of that.

I don't recall the name of it, but I had it done. They took extra vials of blood when they did the chromosome check. I got the results just over a week. I was 14 weeks along when they took my blood. It was very accurate and 100% correct in sex.
