When did you start to enjoy breastfeeding?

At what point did you start to enjoy breastfeeding? From the beginning? Weeks later? Is two weeks too early to decide it may not be for you?

I heard good advice once- don't give up breastfeeding on a bad day- wait until it gets better (and it will, but timing is different for everyone), and then decide if you want to continue. See a lactation consultant if you feel in pain/need support.

I only lasted a week. Then again I really wasn't producing enough and she was constantly hungry and screaming while trying to feed her. So I ended up stopping. I have no shame and I gave it my best.

With my first it took forever to like it. She sucked so hard and my nipples cracked and ripped. she almost took one clear off. I stuck with it for 3 years with her. With my second, I was kinda a pro. Loved it from the moment she was born.

For me it got a lot easier after week 5 or 6... I don't think I actually enjoyed it till 12 weeks in. My dd is 18 weeks old and I'm really happy I stuck with it. The beginning is so hard but well worth it!

I started loving it once my cracks healed which wasn't until about two months later. I had been using lanolin which did nothing for me. Then I started putting breastmilk on my nipples after and letting it dry. That healed my cracks within a few days!! After that, it was great!

with my first i finally felt that we offically were getting the hang of things around 8 weeks. my second is now almost 5 weeks old and i have an overactive let down, but things are finally starting to get easier. 2 weeks is so early in a breastfeeding relationship. it does get SO MUCH easier.

Yeah... I think its too early to give up just yet. I HATED it and it was horribly painful..m but around 3 months it got so much easier and more routine and no more pain. Hang in there .... I'm so glad I stuck with it... so much more convenient than bottles and formula to me.

The first week was HELL for me I mean people were literally holding my hand when it was time to feed my son ! It was so painful soooo painful but at two weeks pp I can truly say I love breastfeeding ... We are still getting into the swing of things but I'm proud of myself for not giving up ! I wanted to but I would remind myself of how much I wanted to do this and I just kept going! It's a process but I believe it's worth it !

I was somewhere around 6 weeks when I started to enjoy it, and around 8-9 weeks when I started to feel really comfortable and love it. Now she's 6.5 months and between the distractions and solid foods, starting to nurse less - and it makes me so sad!!

I'd say stick with it for a few more weeks and try to see a lactation consultant, even if you've already done so. It also helps to spend time with other breastfeeding moms as you'll feel more comfortable and get some support for the hard work you're doing. Good luck!
