First time

I have a long distance relationship and my boyfriend an I have been together for 7 months now. We've talked about having sex a few times. We are planning to meet up in a couple of months, but I don't know if it's too early to do the deed. I talked to my closes friend about it and she said that if you two did it the first time you met up with each other within your relationship it would seem like a one night stand. But since she is the only one I can talk to about this stuff, I can't ask any of my other friends about it. I need some opinions..
