Teething already???

Question

My LO is 15 days old. Started last night. Extreme fussy, biting at everything, wouldn't take bottle, fingers in mouth. I can't see a tooth, but I put oral gel on it and it seemed to help so much and relief to take a bottle. Anyone else go through this?

Teething can happen at any age. Seriously, some babies are BORN with teeth. More than likely, it's just a growth spurt(/leap). I highly recommend downloading at app called The Wonder Weeks. It helps to keep track of these growth spurts and new behaviors and has honestly been incredibly insightful for us (our son is 4 1/2 months and had done all of those things on and off- still no teeth).

Another thing, "they" say to be careful using Orajel on babies. It numbs their throats and makes the possibility of choking far greater. Hands in the mouth is the most prominent sign of hunger. The age your little is at, it's a period of cluster feedings and a constant need for comfort. If you feel they're not hungry, they probaby just want to comfort nurse. If you're not comfortable with that, a soother or pacifier might help?

Also, I'm a total ass for assuming your BFing, but also too lazy to go back and delete. If you're formula feeding, same sort of concept. I'd just keep a bottle on hand and space feed to make sure they don't overfeed (one once, burp break, another ounce, burp break, etc..)
