Clomid?! First...

I start Clomid tomorrow 50mg cycle day 5-9 anyone else, or any input or advise about Clomid?

This was my 1st month taking it also. I had some bad cramps (more than usual) and my period was later, like 6 days. It was unsuccessful but I'll try it again next month. GL!

I would research possible side effects before use if you have not already. I know that one of the possible side effects is an increased risk for formation of ovarian cysts. I am a nurse and one of the nurses I work with was taking this. She said it literally felt like her ovaries were going to rupture. She did end up pregnant though, but had a partial molar pregnancy (the baby had started developing but around 12 weeks, the heart stopped and they attributed it to no placental growth). Afterwards, she had to have a D&C and has had nothing but trouble since. One of the doctors we work with thinks that all of it is possibly related to the Clomid. It is still relatively new and there are not a lot of known long term effects. I don't mean to be scary, but just want you to be informed before you start taking it. My doctor tried putting me on it, I refused and the next month I ended up pregnant (not the case for everyone I know, but it can happen).

I finished my second round this month. The first month I took it all I noticed was that I couldn't sleep when I was taking it. Second month (100 mg) I was very hormonal! Done my bloodwork this past Friday for day 21 to see if I ovulated. Fingers crossed! Good luck to you.

Are you seeing an RE?  I ask because a lot of people don't know you should be monitored by ultrasound when taking Clomid.  I would ask your OB if you can have ultrasounds starting around day 12 to see if you have any mature follicles and if you do, how many you have.  You should also be using a HCG trigger shot to force ovulation and time sex appropriately.  If you aren't being monitored then it can be a waste of time (as it was in my case).  My OB didn't know what he was doing and prescribed Clomid without monitoring.  I never ovulated on Clomid, even at the highest dose.  I moved on to an RE and conceived taking Femara.  Also, you should only take Clomid for a maximum of 6 cycles in your lifetime.  (That's why it's important not to waste those cycles.  Anyway, just wanted to let you know if you weren't aware.  Good luck to you!

my dr put me on 50 mg of clomid and I got pregnant the first month! I do recommend taking it at night but I had no problems!!! I swear I could feel myself ovulating but who knows... I did take opk that month too but just wait to take ur opk until five days after u take the last pill because it will give u false positive on your ovulation test!!! Other than that the false positive on the ovulation strips it was great!!! Good luck!!!

I'm currently on clomid and I'm responding to it well just make sure they keep and eye on your uterin lining its a common side effect from being on it for long periods, this last cycle was number 5 for me on 50 mg so it really just depends on how your body responds to it, and trigger shots aren't always needed either I've only had 2.
