Asking for help

My husband wants me to ask his mom to help me clean since there's a lot I can't do and his mom is going through a lot (depression) so he wants her to keep busy.  I'm 34 weeks and huge. I said I'm uncomfortable with that because it's asking too much and I'm embarrassed that I rather ask her to help me with cooking or something else. He is now mad at me because he says I'm being prideful. I just feel like he should help me clean instead of his 65 year old mom! Cooking is a bit different and I'll be willing to ask. Should I ask his mom to help me clean? She doesn't live with us for those wondering.
